We're also playing at the Ponce 80s Party at the same venue a few days earlier - as I understand it, this will feature a TON of bands playing tiny 2-song 10-minute 80s cover sets. or something.
also:
* sheffield gig is now apparently at The Cricketers, and not an alldayer but three gigs spread over the weekend. we're playing the saturday... I think.
* STRESSED GIG TONIGHT AT FIRST FLOOR! WOO!
* Stressed Volume 2 - which features 'Scene But Not Heard' by us - is officially out on Monday, and will be available from Reveal Records and the Stressed website. the last one got radio play and many reviews so listen / look out!
* Sandman Nottingham featuring OUR FACES will be out soon, it's the October edition and I have no idea what it will look like. I'll try to get a scan.

acoustorama
The acoustic gig at café b yesterday went surprisingly well, Pod stepped out from behind the drum kit to play lead acoustic guitar and played many solos. We were so happy that we've agreed to play a set at an acoustic alldayer at bar vida on October 23rd, alongside such excellent talents as Frankie Machine, Mascot Fight and Ben Walker. We're also playing at the Ponce 80s Party at the same venue a few days earlier - as I understand it, this will feature a TON of bands playing tiny 2-song 10-minute 80s cover sets. or something.

THE RESEARCH.
* The Sheffield gig may now be splitting into three gigs over the weekend rather than an alldayer, due to venue problems - will post news as it happens, GLOBAL DISASTER style.
* The Nottingham Xmas gig is now confirmed as December 14th at Cabaret, but the lineup is still being confirmed.
* We might be doing another acoustic gig, and contributing to an 80s Party (?), plus a gig with My Psychoanalyst, The Scarlet Tuesday and Mothership should be confirmed very soon. Gig whores, eh?

RESEARCH
The Research gig was AMAZING. we played with a flute and a horn, courtesy of Annemarie and Jerry of the EXCELLENT dustcollectors... it's something we'll definitely do again. The Research are now OFFICIALLY my favourite band of the moment, they're incredibly nice and me and Pod are going to go and see them again tonight in Leicester. If they're coming near you, go and see them. PLEASE.THE RESEARCH.

Saturday, September 17th
* The next Sheffield gig (November 5th) is in venue crisis! I expect they'll sort it out though, it's not for ages.
* We have two extra-special secret guest stars for the Research gig. It's on Wednesday, and threatens to be "best". COME TO THIS.
* My car is still broken.
* Our Sandman interview + photo(s) will be in October's issue. I'll post some of the extra photos after I've seen which one they chose to use, they're excellent.
* Terrifyingly, we're headlining (or "playing last" as it is oftenly, more accurately known) at the Stressed launch gig at First Floor in two weeks. Because Plans and Apologies "want to get drunk". Quote source? Robbie.

* Me and Pod are definitely playing our acoustic set on the 29th of September at Café B, Sadlergate, Derby, some time between 6-8pm. Rob, of the excellent Frankie Machine, is also playing that night.* The next Sheffield gig (November 5th) is in venue crisis! I expect they'll sort it out though, it's not for ages.

Monkey Swallows The Universe were absolutely tremendous, one of the best bands I've seen in quite a while. They do amazing girl / boy acoustic songs with bits of glockenspiel and recorder, and if you're reading this, you should go here and download "martin" and "down" at the very least. You won't be disappointed, unless you're a terrible person.
The Scarlet Tuesday were also great, even better than the last time we played with them, and we'll be sorting out a gig in Derby for them very soon.
We went to the gig in my tiny, soon-to-die Nissan Micra, and on the way home the boot unexpectedly came open when a massive lorry overtook us. We stopped on the hard shoulder of the M1 and Pod got out to close it, twatting his head on the roof in the process. Just minutes before, he had spent ten pounds on a large toy dog.
In Lardpony, every day is an adventure!
OTHER NEWS
* Me and Pod's acoustic gig might be postponed, rescheduled, on the same date as before or not happening at all... we're not sure.
* We're doing an interview for Sandman Nottingham on Tuesday.
* We're probably playing a christmas gig in Nottingham sometime around... christmas. I suppose this means we'll have to write another christmas song as "O Little Town Of Normanton" is a bit Derby-centric...
* I completed Resident Evil 4 yesterday after three days of solid killing. Life will never be the same.
